THE COSIMO EFFECT

The Cosimo Effect is a group of seasoned New Orleans veterans that have lived this music and served as sidemen for many of New Orleans founding Fathers and Mothers of Rhythm and Blues. Band leader, guitarist, and vocalist Brint Anderson s experiences with Earl King, Snooks Eaglin, Art Neville, Eddie Bo, Dr. John, and Johnny Adams, to name a few, influenced his decision to organize the band to continue the legacy of this great music. Named in honor of the legendary producer and engineer Cosimo Matassa, The Cosimo Effect is also Jimmy Messa bass and vocals, Mike Lemmler keyboards, and Terrence Houston drums. The group hires various saxophonists depending on their availability. Brint, Mike, and Terrence also serve as sidemen in George Porter, Jr. s Runnin Pardners. Jimmy has been a part of another great band from the Crescent City, the subdudes for a number of years. These musicians have the knowledge and passion for classic New Orleans Rhythm & Blues, staying true to its feel and delivery. It is the joie de vivre that permeates life in Southeast Louisianaâ dancing, laughter, and good-natured revelry The Cosimo Effect provides.
